Log Drums, Have respect for the drum. This drum knows your thoughts and feelings. It can make you dance, make you happy and make you cry.

Log drums are built over log frames. The walls are thinned from the hollow center to a thickness between 1.25 to 2.5".
Outside walls are smoothed and sanded and may be left plain or painted before a hand-cut hide is stretched over each end and secured with rawhide lacing. Some log drums feature a special lacing that frees the sides of the drums from lacing and provides artisans with a 360 surface for painting.

Today, traditional pueblo log drums transcend their ancient roots as instruments of rhythm and function as distinctive display pieces and furnishings.
