HAND DRUMS

Hand drums are shallow tom-tom built with wooden frames made from bent wood or from assembled sections.

When the frame is finished, wet rawhide is stretched over one or both sides of the hoop and laced to the frame.

Historically, hand drums were an essential part of spiritual ceremonies for vision, power, celebration and healing.

Single-or double-headed, plain or painted their manageable size (just 2 to 4 inches deep) coupled with strong, full sound they emit, make hand drums a popular choice for playing or displaying.

Hand drums are ordered by diameter measurement and type.
